4 Reasons Why You Should Sell Canva Templates in Your Business [How to Sell Canva Products - Part 2 of 4]

In this ‘How to Sell Canva Products’ blog series, I’m sharing four weeks worth of things to think about if you’re considering selling Canva Products in your business! Each post in the series will give you a little bit more information about WHY and HOW to start selling Canva Products, so you can decide if it’s the best next step for your business.

Do you know what changed the course of my business (and, to be totally honest, my life) forever?

Creating and selling Canva templates.

I LOVE my service-based work. It is a privilege, an honor, and a joy to show up and serve my clients day in and day out. But as much as I crave a business that’s financially successful, I also desire a rich life… and passive income streams have made that possible.

For the record, when I say “rich life” I don’t just mean making tons of money. To me, a rich life looks like being able to pop your laptop in a tote bag while you get a blow out or grab lunch with your bestie. However you fill your cup, I believe you’re truly living a rich life when you’re not worrying that your biz will fall apart if you’re not at your desk for 6+ hours a day.

Today, it feels like I get to live a rich life — and selling Canva products made it possible for me.

Because I know I have this consistent passive income stream, I’m taking more vacation time than ever this summer (yay for more RV adventures!) and my mornings are nice and slow. With all this time to put my needs first, I have more brainspace and energy to support my branding and design clients, AND I’m able to hire + support an incredible team of superstars who keep things running while I do ALL these things!

After hearing my story, you may not need much convincing… but I want to take a moment to share what a SMART decision adding Canva products to your business is. I’m outlining the four reasons why I think YOU should start selling Canva products in your business, too!

4 Reasons Why You Should Sell Canva Templates in Your Business

Reason #1: Stop trading your time for money

Regardless of whether you bill by an hourly rate or you sell packages, if you’re a service provider or a coach, the amount of money you can make each month is capped by the amount of time you have available.

By adding Canva products to your business, you can STOP trading your time for money.

Right now, if you want to make more money, you’re naturally going to have to work more hours. But with a Canva product, you spend your time creating something ONCE, and then you get to sell it to more people over and over again without much additional work.

Canva products literally sell for you 24/7, regardless of whether you’re behind a screen, enjoying time with your fam, or lounging on the couch with a glass of wine and a good book.

I won’t lie and say that there’s NO additional work involved, because you still have to handle things like customer service and marketing. But the difference is that when you put in those hours, you’re helping way more people and making a much greater return on your time!

Reason #2: There is SO much demand!

There has NEVER been more demand for Canva templates than now. Last week I shared all about why Canva products are the HOTTEST digital product on the market right now

But, to recap, there are currently 30.2 million small businesses in the United States alone, according to the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Office of Advocacy… and guess what? They all need graphics.

Many small business owners don’t have an eye for design OR the time it takes to spend hours designing and tweaking graphics from scratch... which is where your Canva templates would come in!

But demand doesn’t stop there, either. In the digital age we’re living in, the average non-business owner has a need for Canva templates, too.

The travel junkies who want to design a custom scrapbook about their recent trip? Canva templates. The moms who want to create a visual daily schedule for their kids? Canva templates. The food guru who wants to design and print their weekly meal plan and grocery list? Canva templates.

You get the picture… There is SO much need for your Canva product ideas!

Reason #3: Position yourself as an expert in your field

Creating and selling Canva templates also allows you to diversify your offerings and really show your audience that you’re an expert in your niche.

For example, it’s one thing to be a virtual assistant for business owners, but it’s another thing entirely to say that you sell products that help people achieve amazing results even if they can’t hire a VA right now!

How much more professional and high-end would your services appear to be in the second scenario?! Canva products give you the opportunity to really showcase that you have a unique skill set and that you’re using it to help a huge range of people.

And, as a bonus, the templates you design are an excellent way to show off the calibre and quality of your work, acting like a portfolio piece for people who are interested in working with you! Which brings me to my final point...

Reason #4: Funnel clients into higher-ticket offers, products, or services

A well-chosen and well-designed Canva Template can actually generate ideal clients for the rest of your offers!

Think about it like this: the average Canva template retails for $27-$47… but working one-on-one with a business coach, VA, or designer comes at a much higher price.

When you sell someone a low-ticket item (like a Canva template!) and you WOW them with the quality and experience, they’re much more likely to come back to you when they’re ready to take that next step!
