Who’s behind the Clever Course?

I'm Nicholette. The Creative Chic behind Clever with Canva!

I remember more breakdowns than breakthroughs when I took the leap to pursue my own business. I played around with my ideas, dabbled with a few different options, but it took having my son and ironically the least amount of time in my life, to get serious about my business.

I had a newborn and a big fear that I’d feel like a fraud if I told him to go after his dreams when I never fully lit a fire under my own.

The parts my business I needed the most, I had no idea how to do. I needed a designer and a developer and I couldn’t afford them. I had to bootstrap and use the money I did have to figure out how to run a business. I felt so dependent on others to help me.

I’ve picked my broken self up more than I can remember, every time thinking every obstacle, even my desire to have a beautiful online presence is worth overcoming to create a business I loved. A business that felt good in my heart creating and also fit in with my dream of never missing out on my son’s childhood.

Over the years, I’ve spent a lot of money teaching myself what I needed to share my business with confidence. I felt frustrated that my online spaces were puzzled together and I couldn’t “fix” something or have a team on hand to help me solve an issue on the spot (Type A’s have it hard).

This dependency on others and the inability to afford the right help, made me feel insecure, and waste even more money on the wrong courses. It crippled my confidence.

Once I discovered Canva, things took a turn. I met the right coach, the right online support - solutions and clarity finally fell into place. I was spending my time better online, learning to work in small chunks with a baby and I started designing and giving expression to my creativity with Canva.

I didn’t need to master Photoshop or Indesign or hire anyone. Every day I spent in Canva, I was etching closer and closer to my Ideal customer, my purpose and point of difference and further and further away from the feelings of struggle.

It felt liberating. I could create what I had envisioned. I could act on a whim. I felt more independent in my business and I became faster at creating beautiful images and a consistent look and feel for my business.

I now share my graphics on my digital spaces with confidence. I’ve learned how to master many programs, but the one that’s by far closest to my heart is the one I use on a daily basis to connect with my tribe. That’s Canva.

A really good Graphic Designer is priceless, but you still need to create some graphics for your business. You still need to be able to create on a whim. You still need to know your personal design style and you still need to be the one that gives life to your design, to tweak it at a moment’s notice.

What do I need to take this course?

You will need to invest in Canva for work. Since we’re taking things up a notch or 10, becoming legit is going to require a bit of an investment. You’ll also need a computer, a good dose of self-love and a willingness to try something new.

Can I buy it at another time?

Yes, you can, but you won't be able to save over $50.00. After my beta-phase, Clever with Canva will get even fancier and I’ll increase the price.

When does it start?

We officially start 28 March 2016. Mark your calendar and clear some space in your schedule.

How long is the course:

The course will run for 4 weeks.

Will I have 1:1 time with you?

You'll get access to me via our Private Facebook Group, where I will check in often and answer any design or canva questions you have. You'll also get feedback and suggestions from your classmates to help you develop your eye.

Can I upgrade to more 1:1 support after I buy.

You can upgrade to the Premium package which includes 1:1 time with me. There’s ONLY 5 spots available for this option.

Can I get it for my VA?

Absolutely, and if you upgrade to the Premium option, I can work with your VA to customize your Canva designs so it’s consistent with your branding.

Do you have a refund policy?

Yes, I do. If you feel that you have not learned anything valuable from Clever with Canva, 2 weeks after class starts, and I can see that you have taken the lessons and have asked me where you feel you need more support, I’ll happily return your money.

Is the course self-paced or guided?

Clever with Canva is a self-paced course, I do release the lessons a week at a time and I will be hands on and help you along the way in our FB Group. The first round is always more guided, but if these times don’t work for you, you’ll always be able to go through these lessons at your own pace.

What do I get again?
You'll will get clever canva trainings, you’ll learn how to use Canva more effectively and why your style guide and knowing who you’re creating for is essential. You’ll get design support in our FB Group and templates to give your design eye some inspiration.
